You know you should be taking care of your body. But where do you even start?

Maybe you've been told to strength train. Or someone recommended yoga.

You've saved a few stretches for your neck, tried an exercise your PT gave you, or promised yourself you'll start working out when you have more time and energy.

But no one has actually handed you a plan for your body as a dental hygienist.

The Balanced Hygienist does.

The Balanced Hygienist is a 12-week strength and recovery program created specifically for dental hygienists, with short, structured workouts and recovery practices designed around the physical demands of the work you do every day.

👉 No guessing what exercises to do.
👉 No trying to piece together advice from five different places.
👉 No fitness background required.

👉 No gym required.

Start where you are. Choose the weights and variations that work for you. Build from there.

We've been told what to do. But then what?

“Strengthen your core.”
“Work on your posture.”
“Do yoga.”
“Stretch more.”
“Start strength training.”

If you've spent any time in an online hygiene group, you've probably seen some version of this advice.

And it's not bad advice.

But then what?

What exercises should you actually do?

How often?

What should you strengthen when your neck and shoulders already feel exhausted from work?

Where does mobility fit? What about recovery?

And who is going to show you how to put all of that together?

That's the gap I created The Balanced Hygienist to fill.

You've heard all the advice. I made the plan.

Finally, a plan made for dental hygienists.

Each week, you'll get two structured strength workouts: one with an upper-body emphasis and one with a lower-body emphasis.

The workouts are short enough to fit into real life, but structured to build strength throughout your entire body.

You'll work on the areas dental hygiene asks so much from:

Neck + upper back + shoulders
Pulling, pushing, scapular control, and shoulder strength for all that reaching, retracting, and, yes... the infamous chicken wing. 😂

Core + hips
Strength and stability for the hours you spend sitting, leaning, rotating, and trying to get a direct view of #15 distal!

Wrists + forearms
Because your hands shouldn't have to do all the work.

Glutes + legs
Squats, lunges, hinges, and other foundational movements that help you build full-body strength.

Feet + ankles + balance
Because the body doesn't stop at your hips, and neither does dental hygiene.

You'll repeat foundational movements throughout the 12 weeks while gradually adding new challenges.

You don't need to master dozens of new exercises every week. You need the chance to learn them, practice them, and get stronger.

And as you move through the program, you'll start to understand why the workouts are structured the way they are. You'll learn how to choose exercises, adjust resistance, progress your workouts, and eventually put together a balanced strength workout of your own.

So when the 12 weeks are over, you won't be left wondering, “Okay... now what?”

You'll have the knowledge and confidence to keep going on your own. 💜

But strength training is only part of the program.

Some days, another workout is the last thing your body needs.

That's why The Balanced Hygienist also includes the Balance Collection, your growing library of recovery practices to use throughout the 12 weeks and beyond.

Inside you'll find:

Yoga for the days you want a longer, slower practice.

Mobility for targeted areas that feel stiff or restricted.

Myofascial release for those neck, upper trap, wrist and forearm areas hygienists know very well.

Breathwork + meditation for the days you finish work exhausted but somehow still feel oddly alert. Or, as many hygienists have put it, wired but tired.

Some days you might strength train.

Some days you might take a walk and spend five minutes on shoulder mobility.

Some days you might lie on the floor and do Yoga Nidra because you're officially done with humanity after eight patients. 😂

It all counts. 💜

The Balanced Hygienist gives you structure while leaving room for different days, different energy levels, and what feels supportive for your body.

Created for hygienists, by a hygienist.

I know how it feels when the career you worked so hard for starts taking a toll on your body. And I don't want other hygienists to struggle with the same things so many of us have accepted as part of this profession for years.

I've dealt with the headaches, the lower back pain, and the days when my body felt completely drained after work.

A few years into practice, I threw my back out… bad. 😖 Strength training was already a regular part of my life, but that experience changed the way I thought about taking care of my body.

I started putting more emphasis on mobility, yoga, myofascial release, and recovery.

Eventually, it became such an important part of my own life that I became a certified personal trainer and yoga teacher, too.

And I learned that there is another way to do this.

We can build stronger bodies. We can recover from the demands of our clinical days. We can learn how to support ourselves outside of the operatory instead of accepting that hurting is just part of being a hygienist.

The Balanced Hygienist brings all of that together.

This isn't a generic workout program with a tooth slapped on it. 😂

Every workout was built with the dental hygienist in mind: the positions we work in, the muscles we rely on, the areas that tend to get tired and tight, and the reality that you may not have an hour to exercise after spending all day taking care of everyone else.

What you get

12 weeks of structured strength training

Two workouts each week: one upper-body focused and one lower-body focused.

Complete each workout once during the week. If you have the time, energy and recovery for more, repeat one or both for a total of 2–4 strength workouts per week.

New workouts and weekly content will open each Sunday. Everything is prerecorded, so there are no classes you need to show up for at a certain time. You’ll complete everything on your own schedule throughout the week.

Short, realistic workouts

Most strength sessions take about 20–25 minutes, plus a short warm-up and cooldown, so you can fit them into your week without needing an hour-long workout.

Full Exercise Library

Every exercise used in the program has its own demonstration so you can review your setup, form and cues whenever you need to.

No wondering what a “door anchor” is while staring suspiciously at the resistance band set you just opened. 😂

The Balance Collection

A growing collection of yoga, mobility, myofascial release, breathwork and meditation practices.

Choose what fits your body and your day.

You’ll Have Live Support From Me

The Balanced Hygienist isn’t a program you purchase and then disappear into on your own. I’ll be available live throughout the 12 weeks for check-ins and Q&A.

Bring your questions. Ask about an exercise you’re unsure of. Tell me what’s feeling good, what’s challenging you, or where you could use some help.

You’ll have a real hygienist, personal trainer, and yoga teacher there to support you as you go. 💜

"But I'm not really a strength-training person..."

You don't need to be.

You don't need to know what every exercise is called.

You don't need to lift heavy weights.

You don't need perfect mobility, perfect form, or a certain fitness level before you begin.

That's why the demonstrations, variations, and progressions are there.

Maybe you've exercised for years and want something designed around your career.

Maybe you've been saying, “I want to work out, but I have no idea where to start.”

Both belong here.

Start with weights that feel manageable. Use the variation that works for your body. Rest when you need it.

Over the 12 weeks, I'll help you learn how to progress as your strength and confidence grow.

You spend your career taking care of other people.

I know how easy it is for your own body to keep getting pushed farther down the list. You save an Instagram stretch here, try an exercise there, or tell yourself you'll figure out a routine eventually. But piecing together random advice isn't the same as having a plan created for the work you actually do.

Maybe you're already feeling the effects of years in the operatory. Maybe you're a new grad who wants to start taking care of your body before pain becomes part of your story. Or maybe you already exercise and want to be more intentional about building strength and recovery around the demands of dental hygiene.

Wherever you're starting, you don't need someone yelling at you to work harder. You need guidance, options for different days and energy levels, and someone who understands why your elbow is in the air while you're desperately trying to retract on a squirming 5-year-old!

The Balanced Hygienist was built for you. 💜

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have strength-training experience?
Not at all. Every exercise has its own demonstration, and you'll have options for resistance and variations throughout the program. If you're newer to strength training, you'll have plenty of guidance to help you get started.

What equipment will I need?
You'll use dumbbells, resistance bands, and a few other basic pieces of equipment throughout the 12 weeks. You'll receive a complete equipment list before you begin, including links to the equipment I use and affordable options where available.

How much time should I plan for the workouts?
Most strength workouts take about 20–25 minutes, plus a short warm-up and cooldown. You'll receive two strength workouts each week, with the option to repeat one or both based on your time, energy, and recovery.

What if I already work out?
Great! Choose resistance that challenges you appropriately and use the progressions throughout the program as you get stronger. The programming gives you a way to be more intentional about building strength around the physical demands of dental hygiene.

What if I'm a new grad or I'm not experiencing pain?
You don't have to wait until your body is struggling to start taking care of it. The Balanced Hygienist can help you build strength, movement, and recovery habits early in your career.

What if I can't attend the live sessions?
That's okay! Each live session will be recorded and added to the course, so you can watch it when it works for your schedule.

What happens after the 12 weeks are over?
The program may be 12 weeks, but you'll have lifetime access to everything inside The Balanced Hygienist. You can return to the workouts, Exercise Library, and Balance Collection anytime. You'll also learn how to progress your workouts and begin putting together your own, so you'll have the knowledge and confidence to keep going long after the program ends.

Is The Balanced Hygienist only for dental hygienists?
It was created specifically for dental hygienists, but other dental professionals who experience similar physical demands are welcome to join.
